| Arisen The Zem were an ancient race of dark skinned humans that were technologically advanced. An unknown and undocumented event destroyed their entire race. Millennium later their tombs were discovered by a cult of necromancers that began raising them from the dead. Unfortunately for the cult, due to their unique funeral rites, the Zem retained their free will and fought back. The cult was destroyed and the Zem took from them the secrets of raising their dead. Once they had sufficient numbers they began using their knowledge of technology to enhance their rotting forms. Each Zem was entombed with a mask that protects their minds from outside influences, which is how they retained their free will. They continue to wear these masks to not only hide their undead countenance but also as protection and a reminder of their lost culture. Most Zem have taken to calling themselves the 'Arisen'. Although most of the Arisen are focused on rebuilding their empire, a few individuals have journeyed into the world to discover what has happened to them and perhaps find a place to fit in.Average Height: 6' - 6' 5" Average Weight: 200 - 250 lbs Ability Scores: +2 Intelligence; +2 Strength or +2 Constitution Size: Medium Speed: 6 Vision: Normal --- Languages: Common, Choice of one other Skill Bonus: +2 Arcana, +2 History Undead: You are considered to be an undead creature for effects that relate to that keyword. You are also considered a living creature. Enhanced Limbs: You can attach or imbed warforged components as if you were a warforged. Funeral Mask: You have +1 racial bonus to your Will defense. Immortal Ingenuity: You can construct your own armor, weapons, implements, components and wondrous items, given proper tools and raw materials. Making armor takes four days, making a weapon takes two days, making an implement takes two days, making a component takes three days, and making a wondrous item takes four days. Doing so confers no economic advantage, however. The item ultimately costs the same as it would if you’d purchased it directly. And you can cast Creation rituals as if you had the Ritual Caster feat. --- Although the Arisen are legal in Sollette, please ask before rolling one. They do have a very specific backstory in Sollette that will require some explaining. Credit to Allods Online for the original creation of the Arisen. I merely adapted them for use in D&D. | |
