Your first story should tell us something about who your character is and what they do. A flashback to when your dragonborn fighter was repelling invaders from the wall. Or your elven ranger hunting game in the forest with his panther companion. Give us some information on your characters personality and goals. Don't be afraid to let us know how they think, the more information we have then the easier it will be for us to write about our reactions about you. A good idea of what your character looks like is almost essential.
If you would rather be mysterious then play that up, instead! Don't be too introverted though, that's no fun for the rest of us and you'll have more fun as well if you interact often.
My only requirement about what you write is that you give us an explanation of why you would end up in a small town inn. It will be a summer night and the area is lightly forested. Maybe you're just arriving or perhaps you've been staying there for a few days already. Feel free to invent any other details on your own! And make sure to read those that posted before you so your stories can match!
Also, your characters do NOT know that Sollette is dying yet. They may have seen the signs but they don't know what they mean.
